The Quiet 05:29
I fear the silence and it's persistent call, Forcing reflection and thoughts on it all. I fear the empty, when soundlessness crawls Over my presence, it winds and it sprawls. I fear the silence and it's screaming calls, I fear the silence and it's screaming calls. I find my freedom in white noise, fuzz, drones and gain, I find my solace in the soundscapes that can neutralise my brain, Bad thoughts they're drowned out, drowned out, drowned out by Noise and gain and noise and gain and noise and gain...

Blank Paper 05:01
Fall in line, fall in line, fall in line, fall in line, Fall in line and bow down, bow down before your masters. You are not allowed, not allowed to have your own opinions, On your knees, on your knees, on your knees On your knees and follow blindly, you are nothing, You are nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, Nothing but a page for us write on, with our wretched blood, You are a pawn, a cog, a play-thing in our catastrophic plan. So fall in line, fall in line, fall in line, fall in line...

<<Russell Brand>> You don't have to listen to my political point of view, but it's not that I'm not voting out of apathy, I'm not voting out of absolute indifference and weariness and exhaustion from the lies, treachery, deceit of the political class that has been going on for generations now, and which has now reached fever pitch where we have a disenfranchised, disillusioned, despondent underclass, that are not being represented by that political system, so voting for it is tacit complicity. So until people start addressing things that are actually real, why wouldn't I be facetious? Why would I take it seriously? Why would I encourage a constituency of young people that are absolutely indifferent to vote? Why would we? Aren't you bored? A seething, boiling, raging crowd is growing up, is getting loud, There's a whole world that is missing out on a sentiment that's young and proud. There's a sense of loss and a sense of dread, there's a fear that it might end up dead on arrival. On arrival. <<Russell Brand>> These things are not nonsense, and these are subjects that are not being addressed. And we are missing out on accord of our complacency, don't let it be, let it be, let it be. And we are struggling, suffering, strained beyond capacity, don't let it be, let it be, let it be. <<Interviewer>> You don't believe in democracy, you want a revolution, don't you?. <<Russel Brand>> The planet is being destroyed, we are creating an underclass, we're exploiting poor people all over the world and there are continuing legitimate problems for the people that are not being addressed by our political... <<Interviewer>> All those things may be true... <<Russel Brand>> They ARE true! I feel like I'm kicking and screaming, I am screaming: I hate my station, I hate my station, I hate my station!

There's a place in my heart, that isn't as it should be, And I shiver every time it shows me what I could be, Damp, dark, throbbing, mocking, pounding, Oh my heart is lying to me as I live, I could live, I could live if it'd only let me. There's a thought in my mind, at the back, But it's front and center, Dread, doom, frightening terrifying, Oh my brain is lying to me as I feel, Like I'm dying, I could live, I could live, I could live, if it'd only let me. There's a thing within me, counter-intuitively I don't see as me, And it is hard, just to think, just to be, As it's in here lying to me, I could live, I could live, if it'd only let me. There's a thing within me, within me, And I could live, I could live, If I'd only let me.

Bow your head! Get with the crowd, get with the crowd, Get with the crowd, sit your ass right fucking down. Get with the crowd, get with the crowd, Get with the crowd, get with the... The system won't bend until you are broken, We won't relent until you are broken. We won't stand down you are broken, We, we, we, we, we are, We, we, we, we, we are you! Get with the system, get on track, Don't stand out, turn your back. Get with the system, get on track, Get with the system, don't turn back. You will adapt, you will be broken, Beaten and trapped, you will be broken, You'll fall in line, bruised, beaten, broken, We, we, we, we, we are, We, we, we, we, we are you! Bow your head!

<<Julius Robert Oppenheimer>> We knew the world would not be the same. Few people laughed, few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says: "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." I suppose we all thought that, one way or another... Though I, I must admit; first it seemed counter-intuitive for us, race, society, to allow for such an existential threat to exist, to define us so. But, even though it's hard to imagine such a destructive force to be a net positive, working for the greater good, I, I cannot deny any longer that I have com to accept our darkest, our most disturbing side to be our true saviour. The one thing I can see us stopping ourselves from destroying ourselves is that which truly can destroy ourselves. I've heard, I've heard the stories that have haunted my nightmares. I've seen the sights of those affected by it, which I cannot unsee, though I wish I could. And I have truly, I have truly mourned the loss of those, those people and things, the culture we have lost in order for this true force to be known. But there is very, there is, there is very little I can truly hold against this. I guess, I guess it truly needed to happen for us to see what could happen, what we could do. And all I can hope for is that what we could do will never happen, but allows us to reach for what we can do.

about

Underneath the the brightly lit, overcast skies of Amsterdam, we have made this demo in a vain attempt to alleviate the intense boredom that comes with our modern, quasi-utopian existence. We hate, we fear, we tried, but in the end... we really can't be bothered

about

Ennui Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Wrought from the darkest shadows of our fair port city, the foul corners of the lousiest taverns our cradle, the eclectic amalgam of clashing cultures our home, Ennui came forth with such extreme boredom that nothing could stop our creativity except our nigh infinite laziness and indifference. ... more
