lyrics

<<Julius Robert Oppenheimer>>
We knew the world would not be the same. Few people laughed, few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says: "Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." I suppose we all thought that, one way or another...

Though I, I must admit; first it seemed counter-intuitive for us, race, society, to allow for such an existential threat to exist, to define us so.
But, even though it's hard to imagine such a destructive force to be a net positive, working for the greater good, I, I cannot deny any longer that I have com to accept our darkest, our most disturbing side to be our true saviour. The one thing I can see us stopping ourselves from destroying ourselves is that which truly can destroy ourselves. I've heard, I've heard the stories that have haunted my nightmares. I've seen the sights of those affected by it, which I cannot unsee, though I wish I could. And I have truly, I have truly mourned the loss of those, those people and things, the culture we have lost in order for this true force to be known. But there is very, there is, there is very little I can truly hold against this. I guess, I guess it truly needed to happen for us to see what could happen, what we could do. And all I can hope for is that what we could do will never happen, but allows us to reach for what we can do.

Wrought from the darkest shadows of our fair port city, the foul corners of the lousiest taverns our cradle, the eclectic amalgam of clashing cultures our home, Ennui came forth with such extreme boredom that nothing could stop our creativity except our nigh infinite laziness and indifference. ... more
